BraveHeart
I chose the movie Braveheart because of the story line and how well the story evolves. The movie begins with a voice over telling how the king of England plotted to kill all the nobles in Scotland and how young Williams Wallace witness the whole thing. The actor who played young Williams Wallace did a superb job of acting. The scene where his father and brother were buried was believable. From the start of the movie where the King of England plotted to kill all the Scots noble show the king of England had power and no body will defy him. The beginning scene of young Williams Wallace showing the killing and the death of his brother and father kind give the plot that Williams Wallace will seek revenge for his brother and father, but as the movie go on, it was not the revenge for his brother or father but it was the revenge for his wife. The scene where Williams Wallace returns to his hometown all grown up and wanted to raise a family and live peacefully was a bit odd. I would think that he would seek revenge for his father. But the scene where Williams Wallace court Murron was beautifully done. It shows how Williams Wallace tries to talk to Murron but on his way he get stop by Hemmis challenge him to a rock throwing . . .
The way this scene was shot was special, I like how it slow motion where they show him ride in all a lone and the camera pan out to show the number of soldier and than all the sudden Williams Wallace hit the soldier in the head and everything speed up and than slow down again to show the soldier get hit in the head. Williams Wallace love for his wife and his country drive his courage to fight for his freedom and for his people while power drive the Scots noble to side with England to keep their land. His death also unit the Scots noble which finally defeat the English army won their freedom. All the actors in this movie have great talent, even though most are no wells know, but they did a great job of portraying the characters. The battle scene where Scots soldier moon their enemy was part funny and part weird, I mean here there are out number by three to one but they still have a sense of humor about it. The Bruce’s where the father was behind the scene make all the treaty between the king of England and making Robert Bruce betrayed Williams Wallace not only once but twice show how the father love for his son. Although Williams Wallace died at the end, but his legend live on and help carry his people to freedom. Consequently she returns persuaded of what Williams Wallace told her about the king's wrongful doings. Williams Wallace refuses the offer and tells the princess about the king's false word of peace by exposing the past of the king when he hung the villagers after giving them his word of peace. As Williams Wallace inspires his people to fight back, he begins to cause a lot of trouble in Scotland. I did like the scene where he rides in with a horse with no weapons; I though he gives up and surrender to the English. The scene shows Williams Wallace courage to fight back against the odd and it inspire the Scots to fight back and the entire Scots join him and defeat the English and kill the noble. But as the battle started the scene turn violent and brutal and I though they did a great job of integrating the battle scene. What make it beautiful was how Williams Wallace and Murron look at each other, their eye contact make it feel real and more realistic, even thought Williams Wallace have not seen Murron for over 20 years but they still recognize each other and that they love each other like they never separated. The princess invites Williams Wallace to her tent to discuss the king's proposals of peace.
