William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was an English poet, dramatist, and actor, and maybe the greatest dramatists of all times. Shakespeare’s plays are among the world’s most famous literary works. Shakespeare became the first to appeal and to meet with full approval of a broad and mixed public. No other writer’s plays have been produced so many times or read so widely in so many countries as his.

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, a small country town. He was the third of eight children, and had five brothers and two sisters.

Shakespeare was also a prominent man in Stratford. He bought a large house in the town centre called “The New Place”, where he lived as a country gentleman. In that house, William wrote many of his excellent plays. By 1592, he had become well known in the theatrical life, and he had joined one of the city’s theatre companies, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men. Two years later, the Shakespeare’s got twins, Judith and Hamnet, which became their only son. His poems and plays show’s his love of nature that reflects his childhood.

When William Shakespeare was about seven years old, he probably began at Stratford Grammar School where he learned to read and write.

It is said that Shakespeare was not happy in his marriage, and that’s why he moved to London in 1591. William studied Greek and Latin literature, rhetoric, and Christian ethics with other boys of his social class. Unfortunately, Hamnet died at the age of eleven. William’s father also became the mayor of Stratford in 1568. Six months after the marriage, their first daughter Susannah was born. He was a town official and a local businessman.
