Who Moved My Cheese?
"Who Moved My Cheese?" tells a story of change, of how we react to it, and the terrible straits we can find ourselves in when we don't follow that change. The story is told in such simple terms, that one might think there is little value in the story. The story concerns four characters, two mice, and two "little people." The characters live in a maze chasing after cheese. The cheese is intended to be a symbol for anything we chase after in life that we believe will make us happy. The author describes the trials and tribulations we all have in life: joy, excitement, sorrow, greed, envy, stubbornness, fear, and the list goes on. As in life, the characters are never sure why the cheese is placed in the maze, nor the source of the cheese. When the characters are suddenly faced with change just like we are in life, some are ready and others are not. The book records one character's progress and eventual triumph and the lessons he learns along the way. In a section after the story four friends describe the impact that the story had on them and how they saw themselves and their actions in the context of the story. The shortest book I have ever read, and how s
After reading the book my feelings towards my relationship as well as work had "changed". What I discovered was that and I actually realized I wanted to be happier in my relationship as well as wanting a new job. I can still be in control of the things that I do or do not want, but I have to work together with one person for the happiness of both and not just one (that being myself). I feel that there is one person at my work place that does not want that for me as well and has put me on a halt for her own selfish reasons. I must anticipate change and be prepared for when it does. There is an eight year age difference (with him being older) and the age is not the factor, I just think this day in age everyone moves so fast to get married and that is exactly what I don't want at this time because I want school first. After reading this book I realized that I don't have to get married to have a good relationship, I just have to move and grow with it and accept the change that will happen for happiness and nothing else until the time is right. Realizing that part of the reason I don't have a lot of credits is my own fault and now this semester changing the ways I go about school to get more credits I have decided to bite the bullet and this is now why I have taken this online course, in hopes that this will help lead to me receiving twenty-one, no less then eighteen credits vs. I use to be afraid to make a change for fear of what might come and just when I thought things in life couldn't be better for me, I was handed this book and I believe that some of my ways of life have been changed forever because of Who Moved My Cheese? By working through the book I felt like a child again. If change didn't happen then my world would become stagnant like water that doesn't move. I've also used this change information and have applied it to my schedule that I have for my education. The sooner I can do this is when I can begin to enjoy my new life. After reading this book and doing a self-evaluation I learned a lot about myself and what it was that was actually making me feel unhappy at the time in my relationship with my boyfriend and to be more exact also the most extreme unhappiness was the affect that my job was having on me. When a change happens I must accept it quickly and get on with my life as quick as I can. I use to get upset and mad about that, but I have realized after reading this book that I am valuable and so long as I know that, I can go anywhere, do anything, and be whatever it is that I want to be, but in order to do that I have to change something to make what I want to happen be a reality.
