Bipolar Disorder

             Bipolar disorder is a personality disorder that is wide spread among our country. There are two main parts to this disorder. These two parts are depression and mania. Depression and mania are two completely opposite problems. Depression is a persons extreme low. While mania is an extreme high. The type, severity and duration of mood episodes experienced can vary. (bpkids.org)This is a personality disorder, so it does affect the self in many ways. The self is changed because when you are going through a depressive state of mind, you are unable to be happy. While in the manic phase you may sometimes find yourself too happy. Many people suffer from the disorder Bipolar. Bipolar affects the human personality and human self in many ways which can be treated easily if detected.
             The study of the brain can help you realize whether or not someone has Bipolar disorder. While studying that particular part of the person's brain, you look for one main thing. Whether or not you believe it, heredity has something to do with whether or not you get this disorder. About fifty percent of people with this particular disorder have relatives that have the exact same moods as them. Sixty to eighty percent of identical twins have bipolar. Also, twenty percent of fraternal twins have it. If both the parents of the child have bipolar, the child is seventy five percent likely in having the disorder as well. Having the bipolar disorder can affect someone's day to day life very intensely. By having this disorder, you are most of the time looked down upon because of your constant ups and downs.
