The athlete must take care of his/her body in order to maintain a good physique and health benefits. These are serious conditions and without the proper treatment and help he/she could die. Can an athlete train when they have an eating disorder?Athletes are still capable of training whilst having an eating disorder, but there are different things that would make this a lot more difficult:Ø Lack of strengthØ FatigueØ Lack of concentrationØ WeakWithout the correct foods being eaten it will lake highly difficult for an athlete to train. Ø Person binge eatsØ Feels out of control whilst eatingØ Vomits, misuses laxatives, exercises excessively, or fasts to get rid of caloriesØ Diets when not bingeing. Are some sports more high risk than others?. Their muscles and tissues will weaken from the excessive use and lack of vitamins, minerals, protein etc. This is mainly caused by complexes that the person has. Becomes hungry and then binges againØ Believes self-worth requires being thinØ May shoplift, be promiscuous, and abuse alcohol, drugs and credit cardsØ Weight may be normal; or near normal unless anorexia ia=s also presentThe person thinks that to be perceived to be "normal" that they must be thin. Bulimia is similar to Anorexia except with this disorder the person physically brings the food back up not giving it enough time to digest.
