Honesty

As children, we were taught that the truth is always the best policy and that lying will always get you into trouble. We have all been told the story about the boy who cried wolf, and we have probably cried wolf more then a couple of times ourselves. As adults, we know that lying to our bosses or to our friends will make things worse for us in the long run. Whether we are four or forty years old, telling the truth is something we know is right, even if lying sometimes seems like the easy way out. Honesty is always the best choice no matter how old we are or what we are faced with.
School is a big part of a child's life. Tests are very important for measuring the knowledge of the child in question. When a child cheats or lies on a test and gets away with it, it can lead to difficulties in the following tasks of the specific subject. The child then learns that it is easier to cheat then to take the time to study. Lying to other children can also be another problem in childhood. They love to tell each other stories that make them sound more interesting then they see themselves. Doing this can often get them in trouble with the other children or the parents depending on what they are lying about. By telling the truth in both situations, getting in trouble would be avoided.
Adolescence is a very difficult time in everyone's life . Trying to fit in and feel comfortable with ourselves are the biggest priorities in our life at this time. While trying to fit in, teenagers tend to lie to their parents about what they are doing and where they are going in order to either go somewhere they don't think they would be bale to go, or to stay out later then curfew. During our teenage years, we have probably all been caught lying to our parents about where we have been and have realised that it could have all been avoided by telling the truth. This is yet another example of honesty being the best policy.
