In Pursuit of Freedom
            
             After all these years of confinement, the time I have anticipated is finally here. Following my emancipation from high school in June, I will be able to enjoy my freedom.
             I am sure that boot camp could never be as bad as high school. On the sound of a bell, students jump to attention and march to the next class undistracted as if being trained to be good little soldiers. We are to do as we are told, ask no questions, never refuse to obey orders and, above all else, NEVER EVER stop at your locker on the way to home room. By not following the rules there is a distinct possibility that one could be dishonourably discharged from school/boot camp. Despite the rigidity of high school, a stronger urge drives my hunger for freedom.
             I have never considered myself to be priggish but I find the overwhelming stench of sweat that permeates through the walls of the classrooms rather disturbing to my delicate nostrils. Winter used to be my favorite season until my high school years. Between the winter jackets and boots in the classrooms, the odor is unbearable. No matter how long I am in high school I will never get used to the smell of wet dog. Despite the stench in the classrooms, a stronger urge drives my need to be free.
             The community of ________ leaves a lot to be desired for teenagers. There are numerous activities that I, in my last year of high school, could participate in. I could spend my nights making sure the front of ___________ remains standing by leaning against it all night. Or, I could hone my poker skills by hanging out behind __________ for the nightly poker game. Or, after saving my nickels and dimes all week I could grovel for the car to ride the __________ of _______ all night long. Despite the fact that __________ is my home, the lack of activities is what is driving my pursuit of freedom.
