             As we grow and develop into adults we spend a great amount of time in school. Our education plays an important role in how we view our selves and the world around us. School allows us to have more of a understanding and a better perception of how the world works. School and home are very different considering the aspect of cultural. When we enter school we are immediately surround by people come from different backgrounds and experiences. Why should our education only be limited to a certain one or two ethic groups? While there are several different ethic groups present within our schools.
             Our Social Studies curriculum allows us to be aware of important events and people in the past, that give us a better understanding of why and how things are today. It is extremely important to touch base with several different events and people of all kinds of ethic backrounds. For instants, if a student is not being taught about the effects of the civil rights movement and they are of African American descent they may not feel as if it was important or even if the school thought it was important enough to teach. In result, student may have a lower self image, then the student that is of American descent because that student is aware of their ancestors achievements and struggles that explain how things work in the present day. When a student feels as if they are not receiving history on their cultural they make not feel as equal to the student that is being taught other wise. From experience, I know that the Central Bucks School district greatly stresses the importance of treating one and other equally. I also am aware that we are not the only school district that enforces this idea. With treating one and other equally we should also be able to receive an equal education.
