Acceptance
People desire acceptance from other society members. To all people, acceptance will lead to rewards. People who are not accepted do not get rewards. Acceptance is a necessity in order to be in a certain group. Acceptance is also a necessity for teenagers. When people overcome adolescence however, acceptance is not that big of a deal. Every group has certain standards. These standards must be met in order to participate in that group. That is where acceptance rolls in. Everybody wants to be in the popular group. However, not everybody qualifies to be in that group. Football players have to have huge muscle
s, they have to be tall and stalky, and most of all they have to act as tough as nails. Teens live up to the superficial standards that they need in order to be accepted in the group that they want. Acceptance is a very powerful force. That leads to the point when a person starts to value different things in life. To society rejection is the worst thing in the world and that is why people will do anything to be accepted. The teenage years are supposed to be the happiest time of a persons life. This is important for them to learn who they really are without having influences from others. Many teens feel that they need to live up to that appearance of always being happy, when inside they are feeling depressed and lonely. They forget about superiority and they teach others the right way of life. Teenagers have the most necessity of being accepted. Now they can live up to their own expectations. They do not care about being cool anymore, but they do care about what is right and what is wrong. Society creates an image that all teens must live up to, even if that is not what the teen really is inside. Although it can not be seen, it is still there to run peoples lives. Sometimes being rejected can lead to the reward of learning to be an individual and not another part of a group.
