Why Do You Hate Me
The unnecessary ignorance of today’s hate crime offenders is staggering. The repercussions of said crimes are far reaching to the members of all society. Today hate crimes affect a great number people, not only in this nation but also in the entire world. Hate crimes create fear, mistrust, and hostility among our society, and they can happen anywhere at anytime, therefore no one is safe from them. Hate crimes seem to come from the root of evil and the offenders can be portrayed as the devil himself in some examples. Hate crimes are committed all the time and yet we do not know the actual cause for them or why anyone would be possessed to go through with such an act. Often, the results of the acts are horrifying and tragic leaving behind many with unanswered questions and no one to give them a solid or healing answer. As a whole, our society needs to come together and find a way to prevent the evil that plagues us through the form of a hate crime. The resolution may seem very far in the distance and it may be a goal we strive to reach for ages but maybe one day there will be peace in the world and we might learn to live as friends and not foes. Hate crimes not only affect the individuals directly involved with them, but societ . . .
Another example of hatred is the Holocaust where millions of harmless and innocent Jews were maliciously attacked, worked, and disposed of. What was chillingly evident during those years was that anti-Semitism started very young. In recent years, a man in San Diego, Texas, was stabbed 90 times; a man was knifed 20 times at a hotel in Connecticut; and a man in Ulster County, New York, was stabbed and bludgeoned to death, then left for his parents to discover under the tree on Christmas morning. In a perfect Utopia we would not have any of this to deal with and our lives would be free of hate and complications but we do not live in the world of Thomas Moore and so we must find our own ways of dealing with it all. But a friend on the next street had a pickax embedded in his skull. And teach your children about the evil in the world and show them the right way to go about walking on this earth, let them know that it really is them that can make the difference. Ignorance too is a factor in the hate crime equation and it is yet another cause for unnecessary death. “Last year, 55 percent of the victims were targeted because of their race. By the time the officers arrived, she was in tears. ”(7) She states a good point, do not just lay down and let the world trample all over you, do something about it. Maybe you can not change the rotation of the earth but you sure can change those who rotate on it. The reason behind it, because he hates the Americans. “I don’t want to get used to the harassment. With these facts just what will become of our society, when will it all stop, and just what are the results of our actions? The results of our actions provide a snowball effect for our future culture.
