             What is the most popular form of entertainment for high school and college students? Binge drinking has become the most popular activity for high school and college students because of the availability of alcohol, the affordable prices, constant advertising and lack of parental guidance. Binge drinking for men can be described as having five or more alcoholic beverages in a row. For women, binge drinking is having four or more alcoholic beverages in a row. Binge drinking is common among students due to a lack of entertainment. In a small town like Bellville, high school students have no form of recreational entertainment to keep them out of trouble. Therefore, drinking seems like a good way to pass the time. It has been reported that alcohol is more available to the youth now than it was five years ago. If the temptation is present, students will take the opportunity without the proper guidance from adults. High school and college students tend to take drinking to extreme levels which in turn creates harmful consequences for the consumer and those close to them. Binge drinking clouds your reasonable judgment which causes the drinker to make poor decisions. Unprotected sex, regretful actions, injuries and getting into trouble with authorities are only some of the resulting factors due to binge drinking. When students enter college, they abuse their new freedom by choosing the wrong paths to follow. Many decisions and temptations are waiting for college students who are out exploring the world on their own for the first time. High school and colleges students feel that they must drink to become popular and well liked as an individual. Without parental guidance and control, college students are free to choose what their future holds whether it is good or bad.
