Such is Life

Many things happen in this world to which we cannot find explanations. We cannot understand why some babies are born deformed or why healthy young people can one day suddenly be infected of a fatal disease. We often ask the question "why me?" when we are confronted with an unbearable reality such as a diagnosis that we got cancer. We wonder if it is something that we did and as a punishment we have to suffer. We try to find all kinds of explanations for our sufferings because we would feel better if we could find the

For some cases an explanation could be found, but more often they are inexplicable. However, we do not realize that everyone has his/her own troubles. The important thing is how we handle our problems. We may even go as far as believing that in our previous lives we must had been evil doers and therefore must pay in this life. Many of us refuse to accept this though. " After all, how can we be sure that this is not part of God's plan to work miraculous things through us? Embrace all our joys and sorrows because life is not life if these two elements were not present. We are so self-centered that we only care about whether we are injured or not. We can choose to suffer grumpily and live miserably whenever a trouble comes along or else we can accept our sufferings with a cheerful attitude and say to ourselves, "other people have gone through more difficult things than this. Children born handicapped might point their fingers at their parents for bringing them into the world this way. Sometimes we tend to blame it on other people. The only difference is the gravity of the suffering. We just do not see other people's burdens.
