The traditional classroom is a one person show. Sitting still in one place, listening to a teacher lecture is very rarely interesting. Students are expected to accept what the professor says to be true. This is memorization and not learning. The traditional approach to teaching leaves little room for independent thought or student initiated questions. It cannot be assumed that each person has come into the course with equivalent background knowledge. Nor can it be assumed that everyone learns at the same tempo. Learning is thoroughly linked with socialization. Teaching in the classroom should be more than just helping students to obtain knowledge about a particular subject. When it comes to computers, what is taught how to use is most often forgotten. Exploring the material in a group is also very helpful. When given the ability to explore the material, the student can then relate those experiences to their own lives. Since each student is unique, each one has had different experiences. When helping each other learn and sharing their experiences and the way that they relate those experiences to the material the student is much more likely to gain a better understanding of it. st will spawn a more in-depth knowledge of the subject. Also, with aide from the instructor they can also link the material to world happenings. The leads to the student learning more because they can take their time through certain parts in the lesson that may come hard for them and in return can go through other parts faster. When the teacher challenges a student individually the student tries their best. An instructor should teach or train the students on how to teach themselves, on how to learn. Learning and experiences go hand in hand.
