Teenagers depression.
All people in our world have been depressed sometimes. But what do humans know about it? Brown (1996) said that depression was always overlooked in teenagers since children were not always able to express their feelings. Brown also added that depression is exaggerated mood changes in its duration and intensity. So depression could affect everyone in different ways. That’s why we need to know symptoms and causes of depression and also how to treat this kind of disease. Depression has a variety of symptoms such as prolonged sadness (lasting two or more weeks), sleep disturbance - waking up in the early morning or finding it hard to get to sleep at night, feelings of hopelessness and pessimism, feeling of guilt, difficulty in making decisions, getting tired very fast, and crying without any reason. But the most common is a deep feeling of sadness. All this kinds of symptoms could happen because of the three main causes: social factors, external factors and health causes. These causes are very important and serious for teenagers and this type of things are not only words. Also depression is a loss of an important life goal without anyone to blame (Levitt and Lubin, 1978). By statistic up to 14 % of teenagers will experience an ep . . .
Also Genetics plays a big role in depression. Social life is a life with other people with different personalities characteristics and behavior. “Treatment is usually short-term, there's no lying on a couch. This kind of depression includes strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, cancer, and hormonal disorder. But sometimes relatives or parents could help you more because they love you and understand more clearly. Also electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), or shock treatment as it is sometimes misnamed, is a safe and effective treatment for some forms of depression. These techniques include behavior change (more activity and rest), skills development (training yourself and control yourself) and involvement in the family and friends life (more interaction and trust). Treatment depends on each person’s symptoms, which means that every one single case of depression has to be treated separately. Many teenagers do not have enough life experience to understand their emotional swings. When teenagers are depressed — oftenly they also have problems with alcohol or other drugs. Health factors include problems such as Biochemistry reduction in brain. (Joutnal of the American Medical Assosiation,1998). But these problems could be solved if teenagers decrease stress with some techniques.
