UFO's
When I first heard about the I-search paper I knew exactly what I wanted to do mine on. One time when I was younger and coming home from the fair I saw a big and bright flashing light in the sky. Ever since then I have been wondering “are UFO’s real?” “Have people really seen Aliens?” “What do other people think about Aliens?” The first thing I did for my search after I got my topic was recall information that I already knew. I already knew that UFO stood for unidentified flying object, and that there are many people who people who believe in UFO’s and that there are many people who do not. As you can see, coming into this paper I really didn’t know very much about UFO’s. My search started in the high school library when the class all went down to research. We were supposed to find five sources on our topic. I went to the computer to see if there were any books (not checked out yet) about UFO’s, because I remembered that I saw some books about UFO’s, one time when I was younger. I was in luck, there were about three books about UFO’s still in the library. So I quickly checked them out before someone else could. After that, I looked if there were any magazines about UFO’s. I must have looked for about thirty minutes . . .
By now I started to understand more about what UFO’s and aliens are all about, but I knew that there was a lot more for me to find, and I was right. In conclusion I’m glad that I chose this topic for this paper. It talked about when people first saw UFO’s and if they had ever hurt anyone. A man named Herbert Schirmer, who is a police officer, stated that he saw a football shape object land and two occupants approached him. Drake and his partners, at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank, West Virginia, listened for signals from two nearby stars (Crawford 39). The object radiated intense heat that softened the dashboard of the car. I also learned that there was a “Project Blue Book,” which was the name given to the project concerned with the analysis of thousands of individual UFO reports recorded over a span of twenty years (Hynek 11). In front of them they saw a huge, brilliant, diamond-shaped object with flames shooting out from the bottom. At this site I found out things like how fast UFO’s move, how to tell if it is a UFO hoax, Does the U. I was amazed that people have a better chance of seeing a UFO if you live in the southwest or the northeastern parts of the United States (Hynek 270). Even though there are a lot of programs using different techniques to find extraterrestrial’s researchers have made no positive detections of extraterrestrial signals (Crawford 39). Encounters of the 2nd kind are marks made in the environment by the UFO, such as burn marks or radioactivity. Within a few hours they developed sunburn like blisters, nausea, and diarrhea. I got lucky because the first site that I clicked on had lots of information. But there were 2 things that I found very interesting at this website.
