The Diversity of Science Fiction

             In 1898, an Englishman, H.G. Wells publishes a novel with the capturing title - "The War of the Worlds." Written more that a hundred years ago, this compelling tale describes the Martian invasion of Earth and man's struggle to survive. Eventually it proves itself to be one of the very first exceptional examples of the science fiction genre. Relatively modern and untraditional, this particular style of literature entertains nowadays millions of devoted fans. All over the world people enjoy the vast variety of fascinating science fiction books - for every taste and every age. The most admired and distinct can be summarized in three different groups - scientific science fiction, adventurous science fiction, and fantasy.
             The very name of this literary genre suggests that it is in a way related to science. However, not every science fiction novel involves strictly scientific ideas. Yet, a vast majority of the books that qualify under that writing style implicate realistic or visionary information from every branch of the human knowledge and they often carry complex and exhaustive scientific terms and elements. For example, some of Isaac Asimov's outstanding novels, like "Understanding Physics" and "Wandering Stars," introduce substantial astronomical and physical data. In like manner, his "Fantastic Voyage" offers the reader extensive information about human anatomy and biology. Despite its heavily detailed, sometimes obscure, and elaborate language, this particular type of science fiction is relished by thousands of admirers.
             However, the second group, called the adventurous science fiction, captures the attention of even more readers. The books that fall into this style, lack the dense scientific details, but are abundant of star wars battle scenes, action heroes of the future, and striking alien confrontations.
