Dante’s Inferno is a portrayal of Hell, step by step, circle by circle. Dante’s Inferno starts out as a dark night in the woods when Dante was 35 years old. The next day is Good Friday. Dante finds himself lost, and is approached by a leopard, a lion, and a she-wolf, slowing his progress up the hill he traveling. The Fourth Circle is for spenders & hoarders. The second ring is for violence towards self. Minos, a beast in hell, is the judge that send sinners to their final destinations beyond the First Circle. I recommend for anyone who hasn’t read this, to do so. It has ten different pouches for different types of sinners: seducers and panderers, flatterers, simoniacs, diviners, barrators, hypocrites, thieves, false counselors, schismatics, and falsifiers. The Second Circle contains the lustful. Virgil then leads Dante past Satan, which begins their ascend into the southern hemisphere. The Fifth Circle is for the wrathful and sullen. I understood the whole story line, but the details were hard to follow. I like how it makes you think and tests your mind. The third ring is for violence towards God. The Seventh Circle is broken into three rings.
