Psych
Over the course of the last week, I have visited and went to many routinized workplaces and have encountered many interactions with different people at these places. They each had their own different characteristic phrases, lines and or props to support their workplace. I had different feelings within each workplace when I interacted with the different kind of people involved. Some of the places that I visited were: a car dealership, a tanning salon, a department store, a sorority house, and a mechanic shop. One of the first places I visited was a car dealership, near my home town. Some friends and I were just looking around, because I'm looking for a new car. When all of a sudden one of the salesman comes running out, trudging right through the snow. We thought she was going to fall because she was trying to get to us so fast. When she approached us she seemed really interested in what we were looking for and then asked me what price range I was looking to spend. This made me feel uncomfortable, because I knew she probably thought that I was just some college kid/teen that was looking for a car, but couldn't afford anything to nice. I know that if I was with my parents when looking for this car, that she wouldn't have
asked how much I was looking to spend, she would have just tried to convince them into buying one of the more expensive ones. I was really sketchy about getting them fixed there, because I had just had them fixed about three months ago. She found the one she wanted and there wasn't a lady in the booth that we wanted to get the watch from. A tanning salon is one of the next places that I visited that was a routinzed work place. I got a price from him, which was pretty expensive and he knew I wasn't too sure that I believed him and that I should get them fixed. It was a new place that just opened up in town, which caught my eye, so I figured I would check it out. I thought that she was just going to try and sell me one of the cars that weren't that great of a deal, and rip me off. They guy at the mechanic shop made me feel comfortable about what he was doing, and I actually trusted his opinion and the words that came out of his mouth. I think he was trying to make me feel more comfortable, and he offered to show me himself where the breaks were bad, and that I could actually see them rusting. After actually taking notes on the different routinized work places that I encountered over the last week, I actually realized how different each place is and how it makes me feel. Some of my friends and I were thinking about joining a sorority, so we went to one of their closed parties that we got invited too. The guy at the mechanic place is a good example; I think he was treating me, how he would want to be treated, and what he would do if he were in my situation. We told the girls that we would think about it and weigh out the pros and cons. I was kindly greeted when I first came in, and then asked if wanted a tour of the place.
