Environmental Relationships
In my own words I think sustainability means doing things in the present. That will not only help now but also in the future. To me it is more of a concept. Sustainable development to me is doing something about the problem. Such as putting it into action. Some reasons for pessimism in our environment include dealing with past pollution. Finding out about it too late to actually do something about the problem. Such as oil spills that happened in the 1970's. These oil spills are still a threat to our environment. We still hear about animals that are malformed and such because of the oil spills and other issues that deal with factories polluting the environment.
By recycling we are able to help with the littering of the streets and other parts of the environment. With the new technology we have today we are able to recycle better. Realistic pragmatism is both sides. Here in Michigan the littering is not as bad as other states across the USA. The overpopulation is taking away from the endangered species, leaving them no place to live. Us humans think that as long as we are getting what we need then who cares about the animals. We must live with nature and ourselves. With the increasing population growth we are finding we need to use fields to build homes. We need resources such as trees and water to survive. In conclusion, I would have to say that our environment is a big thing in our lives. By abusing it we will get no where. Littering is another concern of mine. This cuts back on producing food for the people being born. The population growth is also a pessimistic issue for the environment.
