The Beginning

             since I was a child, I always wondered how the world was created. I can remember my mother taking me to church, where I learned about God and how in six days the world was made.
             But, it always seemed like the story being told to me was incomplete, or maybe I just wasn't willing to accept this story. As I grew and started to attend school , I discovered there were other explanations on how all that I know exists. These alternate explanations intrigued me and I studied them enough to realize, there is no real proof of how our existence came about. There is no way to prove if there was an Adam or an Eve, an apple or a snake, or, if all this took six days or a trillion years.
             There are two main groups of people who try to explain the creation of the earth, Creationists and Evolutionists. The first of these groups Creationists believe in a divine creator, God. Creationists base their explanation solely on God's miraculous works. According to this view, a spiritual being is in responsible for willing everything into existence, and this is how human beings came to inhabit the earth. The theory of Creationism has been supported only through various religious writings, particularly the Bible. And although the Bible is definitely a important piece of literature, whether figuratively or literally, believing that the age of the earth is only a mere 10,000 years old doesn't support the validity of the Creationists theory.
             The second explanation, of our heavenly creation comes from the Evolutionist perspective. This perspective embodies that all living things developed from unicellular organisms. Evolutionist also believe, all organisms can be traced back to a common ancestor from inanimate matter. Basis of this is that, changes occur in all living organisms in order to help increase their adaptability, or potential for survival and reproduction, in the face of changing environments.
