Most recent estimates suggest that 377 million people speak English as a first language. I still notice the difference before and after I met her. A big number off people in my family is French, that's why I get to speak that language very often. are that I write a letter or e-mail in English or any other foreign language. Our society is getting more and more multicultural, so if you want to communicate in the future you should pay some attention at certain languages. There are no official figures available on the number of people who use English as a second language, but we estimate about 300 million people, around one-third of the world's population. I guess I will be using English the most in my future studies, because it's "THE" main computer language!. I try to solve the problem by writing e-mails to my old English girlfriend, who helped me a lot with my English writing and speaking skills. Especially English because it's the lingua Franca from these days. The two largest concentrations are the USA (226 million) and the UK (56 million). I am able to speak English, French and of course my mother tongue Dutch.
