college essay
In November of 1997, my football coach thought that it would be good for me to join the wrestling team to help me out for the next football season coming up. I went home and slept on it and decided, why not? I have nothing else better to do I mine as well get into shape for football. The next day I walked up to the wrestling coach and asked him if I could join the team, he said . . .
I went home very soar and bruised but I decided to stick with it because I told my self I would never quit anything and also it would help me in the long run. it was a lot of hard work and dedication. After the first couple of weeks about twenty-five kids had quit the team leaving only twenty kids. I agreed that I would show up to practice the following day, not knowing that this was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I was so excited to go to school because I had my first day of practice, which was the longest day of school I ever had, practice began at 2:30. Practice was very difficult ranging from 25-30 minutes of running, 200-250 pushups and 350-400 sit-ups. I was beginning to love the sport more than football because everyday after practice I would say to myself “I just did what only twenty kids in this school can do”. That day at practice the coach had addressed that this sport wasn’t for everybody and you have to love the sport to keep going.
