Pepper the Goat who Caused Lots of Problems
Pepper the Goat who Caused Lots of Problems When my brother and I were in grade school, we were on our way home on the big yellow limo. We were walking up our driveway and we saw a baby goat in the front yard. My brother and I were extremely excited when we heard "bah bah." My Grandpa had surprised us by buying a goat from his friend for my brother and I. We named the goat Pepper since he was black with white spots. As Pepper got bigger, he got into more and more trouble. When he was tied up in our front yard, all of a sudden, we heard what was to believe glass shatter. I ran down into the basement and saw Pepper standing there on the pool table. Sure enough, Pepper had run into the window and broke it. The reason why he did this was that he saw his shadow and thought it was another goat challenging him to fight. The natural reaction from a goat would be to charge back; so, Pepper did so and rammed right into our glass window. I ran out of the basement to go get my family so they could see what Pepper had done. My dad was so furious; he grabbed Pepper and tied him up outside to a tree with a metal chain so he could not chew thr
I also realized never to judge people before you really get to know them. We would always get phone calls from him saying that we need to come get our goat. He had chewed the towels so far up that; the fence had shocked him. Now when I see Ruby I stop and talk to her; she even gives my brother and I homemade cookies sometimes when we get off the buss. Pepper got into additional trouble. We would always go down to Ruby's house, grab Pepper, and take him home. I would always see her outside everyday doing her little routine with her roses but I had never said hi because I thought that she was that mean old lady who lived on the corner of our block. My Grandpa had noticed Pepper chewing the towels on the electric fence. Once my brother and I saw Pepper doing this we thought that Ruby would be Livid. Obviously, Pepper had not learned his lesson because we saw him across the street playing "king of the mountain" with our neighbor's car. Ruby was this old lady who would be outside everyday trimming her rose plants; so we thought that these rose's meant a lot to her. Overall, Pepper was a very comical goat, but he just caused to many problems. Pepper had scratched and dented the hood of his car; that was an expensive fix. I realized that it was too difficult to take care of a goat; that is why I decided not to get a goat ever again and just stick with domestic animals. Sure, enough after that incident Pepper got into more trouble.
