The Past, Present, and Future of abused women
Domestic violence has been an area that has been researched time and time again without an effective solution found. The point of the following pages is to educate and inform the people who are not aware of the worldwide problem of violence against women. The information provided in these next few sections is not going to give the solutions the world is looking for, rather they will provide the information necessary for those of a more thorough experience and intellect than myself to conclude some sort of solution. The extensive research done has shown increasingly severe problems in the area of abuse and when searching for a solution for the future, the answer lies within the past and the present. As hard as this may be to believe, our problem today stems from the early Roman society where a woman was considered a piece of property and completely under her husband’s control. (I plagarized this paper)If people do not acknowledge them, they are not there. People need to have more open minds when it comes to these women and realize that there may be a good reason that she is venturing out on her own. Women are not supposed to be abusive so two women in a relationship should make the perfect couple. The purposes of the VAWA are to improve safety for women in various situations, improve the response of the law enforcement, and to expand the community response and educational services (Roberts, 1996, p. This issue is often overlooked for a few reasons.
