Television

             Television is non-educational for many different reasons. Television has a number of bad things that children shouldn't see. Television has nudity, violence, cursing, and pointless humor. Television is just another luxury that the whole world can't live without. People would rather watch television than playing with their own kids.
             One of the reasons television is non-educational is the violence, because more and more television shows have violence in them. Television is basically encouraging children to go out and fight or maybe even kill somebody because they saw it on television. Television is brainwashing children to do things that they really shouldn't do. For example, I saw an episode of NYPD Blue, and in this episode, they were killing people left and right. That just proves that violence on television has become more realistic in our world.
             Another reason why television is non-educational is the cursing. It seems like every channel I try to watch has some form of cursing in it. More and more shows are allowing cursing to take place. If a child hears a curse word on television, then that child is going to want to say it, and think it is okay to say that word.
             Parents act as if their TV is a babysitter for their children. Parents think as long as their children are watching TV then everything is okay. But it is not okay, because kids are watching the wrong things. Some parents think that television is educational, so that they don't need to study with them. Parents also think as long as their children are watching television, then the parents don't have to play or watch them.
             Some of the pointless humor that television has on today is appalling. For an example, The Jerry Springer Show is one of the worst tasteless humor shows on the air.
