Purpose of the lesson: The purpose of the lesson is for the children to be aware of the similarities and differences between themselves and children of different cultures. The children will also learn the words and tune to a song that describes the differences and similarities between children.Introduction of the lesson: Clothes will be displayed that children wear from different countries. Do any of you have black, or red, or yellow hair? 2. While reading the book, We All Sing with the Same Voice, the teacher will ask questions like: 1. Do any of you like to do any of these things?b. The children will sit on the carpet facing the teacher to see the book and the chart paper. Read the chorus to We All Sing with the Same Voice from chart paper. "Assessment: The teacher will ask each student to name one way that they are different and one way they are alike someone in the class or the book. The teacher will also point out the different types of clothing and locations represented in the book. Sing the chorus with the CD Assessment: The teacher will listen to hear each of the students while singing together.
