The Devil is ...

The Devil Is the Arrogance of the Spirit, Faith Without Smile, Truth That Is Never Seized By DoubtThe theme of the Evil is familiar to almost everyone since the very childhood as this is the subject that we are taught and get an idea about from our parents. We grow up knowing what is bad and what is good to do and we are trying to follow the commandments. However, sometimes we are losing the feeling of virtue and, finally, our selfishness wins a victory over the noble intentions that we had in mind. Every person has the Devil inside, the Devil that is as unpredictable as our own future, and we never know when he will show his hideous face. Speaking about the Devil I tend to speak about our personal, inner qualities and about our morals, as, to my mind, these are the components and the main reasons of the sinfulness that leads to self-destruction. All bad actions of the humankind are dictated by selfishness and jealousy that ru

As it turns out, the Devil is just the second part of our essence, the part that we are usually hiding from everyone and sometimes even from ourselves. But what is the result, what are the feelings if we, finally, give up and let the arrogance and selfishness triumph the common sense? Do we consider the victory as a pleasant one and feel satisfaction in offending other people? At the first moment the answer, perhaps, would be 'yes', as we are still concerned in our truth and the correctness of the deed. Human arrogance sometimes does not know any limits in humiliation and destruction: our desire to excel others is often expressed in pointing out their demerits - consciously or unconsciously, but it happens. The complexes that we have and the will for power and dominance influence our behaviour and aggressive, bad-mannered actions directed to innocent people. Sometimes, unintentionally, we hurt the very dear and, even if later we regret about it, we do not say sorry dooming ourselves to the loneliness. But this part reminds of itself when any unsuitable moment appears. However, the shame that we feel afterwards the mistakes makes us evaluate our actions and bring out some lessons from it - without it, one day we might wake up completely lonely, without friends, tete-a-tete with our arrogance. On the one hand we realize the evilness of his recommendations and the uselessness of the advices, but at the same time we might start thinking over it - admitting our weakness. Now and then we are trying to show our superiority, offending and disgracing others, those people who are our friends and have no intention to compete with us. but while doing something bad we do not usually think about the consequences - we stand only for our own interests and this is our idiocy that reveals our shortsightedness. Almost every time we have noble intentions in mind there is someone at the back of our mind whose voice advises to act in a different, far from being noble, way - we hear the utterance of the Tempter. All the negative deeds lead to solitude . But what comes later, when we come back to earth and see the results of so-called 'victory', when we see the tears and sufferings of those who had experienced the heavy fist of our egoism? We regret.
