Brave New World is a book in which the author, Aldous Huxley, tells us of his fears of science and society. Huxley had two main concerns at the time he was writing this book. Exploding birth rates was a concern because Huxley believed that with more people less compassion and humanity was shown. Also, Huxley was concerned with too many politicians being allowed to rule and control our lives. He believed that science was a great thing if used for good and not for evil. In Brave New World Huxley expresses his fears of how society would be if science and technology were used incorrectly.
             Huxley is very worried about science and technology and how it would affect our society in the future. Huxley states that the theme of Brave New World is "the advancement of science as it affects human individuals" (XI). Huxley fears that if science and technology are put into the wrong hands that we could end up like "the brave new world". Huxley knows that advancements in science and technology will happen but he doesn't trust the leaders or scientists to use them properly. Huxley knew that many of the scientific discoveries could produce danger and cause a controlled society if put into the wrong hands.
             Huxley wrote Brave New World to help people understand what would happen we relied on science and mistreated it. The whole theme of Brave New World is that it does not use science well. In "the brave new world" illustrated in the book no one has any freedom. The government manufactures people using science and technology. They manufacture them into people who love the job that is assigned to him or her. All the rules and customs from the present day have been wiped out and even god has been replaced. They condition people into liking and disliking what they believe is right all to achieve social stability.
