I have many hopes for my future students. I plan to help them achieve their own personal goals and dreams they have set for themselves, in any way possible. It is important to never give up on them, because they will then lose confidence in themselves and the motivation to succeed. I believe it is important to make them aware that they are agents of change, and have the ability to make a difference in the society that they live in. It is visible how much a child gets out of being in a classroom, around people that care for each other. Every child learns in different ways, and may be better at learning some ways than others; this is why addressing all of the intelligences is so important. I will also be able to recognize if this isn't their learning style, and address ways to help the particular style they may have. This will help me greatly when I become a teacher because I will be able to suggest things to my students if they are having difficulty with a subject. While taking this class and others here at CCSU, I have come to realize exactly what type of learning style I possess. Multiple intelligences are also something very important that should never be overlooked. Overall, my experiences at both the community and school field site, I have learned a great deal of information on how to deal with a diverse classroom. I learn best by taking notes and reading, and have come up with zillions of different ways to enhance this way of learning. Being an intern at Smith Elementary School has strengthened my desire for wanting to be a teacher. Many ideas were presented to me, and I plan to keep them in mind for when I become a teacher, with my own diverse classroom. This is essential if you want to fully carry out with the learning process.
