A large amount of the story is toldusing the cameras and the suspensful music which caneasily alter your mood. ""Gallipoli," the movie, is one that might affect the rest ofus for just as long. Such as the Australian outback, which gives afamiliar feeling as the boy's homeland and the foreignEgypt, where the training camp is set, showing thecontrasts between two very different cultures. They seem detached from the reality of the warthey are about to enter. The Men are used as infantryfor the charge against the Turk Position. They travel through the vast Australianoutback in order to reach Perth and plan to go their ownseparate ways upon arrival. You'll get wound into this amazing, emotionallymanipulative tale and you may even need to occasionallyremind yourself that it is just a movie. Mel Gibson shines in one of his earliest but renowned rolesas the witty and good-hearted Frank Dunne and thewonderfully cast Mark Lee radiates as Archie Hamilton, thefun-loving, naive boy from the bush. The two meet as competitors on a racetrack. Definately one for the collection. Portrayingindividual, believable characters which you get to both loveand hate throughout the film.
