Stress
The book Man's Search for Meaning, by Victor Frankl is one of the best books that I have ever read. Reading this book has changed my thinking about life and death. People like us who have never experienced something which the author and thousand other prisoners have experienced in those concentration camps cannot appreciate the small things life has to offer because we are always asking for more, but reading this book can give us the appreciation for even the smallest things in life. It tells us to celebrate even a small victory in a person's life and live every day to its fullest. The one main thing I learnt from this book is that no matter what, never give up hope because hope opens the door towards good future and helps us survive the worst times. I agree that any kind of stress can effect a person's state of mind, but no one has the right to make anyone's suffer because of their experiences. is one step towards a better future. Every human being has a motive to life but its just that he just doesn't see it himself or the sufferings or the bad times or stress, blinds him so much that he cannot see this motive. Therefore it is very important to look beyond the borders of stress and you will be able to find a meaning or motive to help you go through the rough times. Another thing that I liked is that when the author talks about the fellow prisoner after liberation, who says its justified to do any wrong because they have been though so much suffering. Personally, I can never feel the way the author itself and the prisoners of the concentration camp felt at that point and even now, maybe it would have been justified for me at that point if I were at their place, but then I think of other people who went through the same experiences like the author itself, they also think that wrong actions cannot be justified. In bad times or in a moment of stress, we should think of these people who mean a lot to us. Bad times like good times are one of the stages of life, one doesn't have a meaning without the other, so we should accept both the same way. Sufferings should never let your hopes down because its no just about you, there are people ( your loved ones ) who are relying on you to be strong and we should not disappoint them. Being positive about life is a good remedy of getting rid of stress. Thinking about the good times in the past and also being positive about your future is a good cure of stress. Stress can never let you move up in life so we have to get rid of this stress by giving a new meaning to our lives. I think doing any kind of wrong can never be justified. Just because one person has been through a lot of physical and mental stress does not give him/her the right to make someone else go through that too.
