I woke up early on a Saturday morning to discover my husband wasn't there. I could guess where he was and who he was with, I put on my silk dressing gown and went downstairs and surprise surprise there sat my husband with 'him' watching 'it' "Alright love?" my husband said, I just gave a little nod and smiled to let him know I was ok but deep down I was angry and bored. I sat down opposite my husband and watched him act like a silly teenager with his best friend Fred, doing what they do every Saturday, watch TV until about five-ish , go to the pub and come back late (or early Sunday morning) and watch more TV and sleep during the day on Sunday and that's what their weekend consists of then he's back to work on the Monday, giving me no time or giving me any affection. Not even talking to me much. My weekend on the other hand is crying in my room on Saturday because I feel unloved then I'd make dinner in the evening hoping that he'd come home one night without Fred, just me and him, just for a change, but that hasn't happened yet. Then on Sunday I work which is better than sitting at home doing nothing. Well enough is enough! I came to the conclusion that I had to confront my husband and tell him how I feel because it seems as if our marriage has gone downhill ever since he made friends with Fred.
The next Friday I finally managed to get my husband off the phone with Fred and sit him down and said "Ok John I can't take this anymore, you seem to be more in love with Fred and your TV and alcohol more than you are with me and to be honest I've had enough"
"Yeah but he's my best friend, I got to do something with him" he said
"You haven't gave me a whole weekend to yourself, your either with Fred, in front of your TV or in the pub! If I don't do something I'll just be stuck in my room all weekend with no one to love me...
