VoiceStream Wireless Corporation's new pricing strategy has been quite a success and has greatly increased competition in the wireless communications industry. VoiceStream's "Get More" pricing strategy includes 600 minutes, plus 500 free minutes on weekends for just $39.99 a month. Customers are not charged for long-distance or digital roaming charges when calling to and from various US Cities and neighboring states. Customers in the Dallas and Ft. Worth, for example, area get free international roaming, unlike other providers, and free long-distance for calls placed in and to Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
VoiceStream also offers wireless Internet service through their mobile devices. Customers can receive news, sports, and entertainment updates directly on their handset. Additional services include text messaging from handset to handset and a two-way e-mail feature that allows customers to send and receive e-mail from their wireless handset to a home or office web address. VoiceStream is aiming to bring customers across the globe, the benefit of high quality at a low price. CEO, Bob Stapleton states, "We are giving residents the choice of using their wireless phone service in many of the world's most popular destinations, whether traveling for business or pleasure."
