It is commonly known that using a desktop computer for a extended period of time, without adopting the proper ergonomical safety and health precautions and procedures, can result in Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI), a combination of various computer related injuries such as injuries of the hands, arms, shoulders, backs and neck's.

Supervisors are expected to always uphold their responsibilities and safety will take priority at all times. As well, employees are expected to do the same.
Keyboard & Mouse - Use a light touch when typing, keep wrists in a straight position, keep elbows at a slightly open angle, keep your shoulders relaxed and elbows at your side and do not use wrist rests or armrests while typing. Place your mouse close to your keyboard and in easy reach, take breaks every 15-20 minutes and change your position regularly and use a light grip.
Desk, Chair & Posture – Adjust your chair height, recline, seat pan & armrest to suit your own comfort, make sure the small of your back is supported, shoulders relaxed and that there is no pressure under your thighs.
Change between different positions often, take regular mini-breaks during the day to give your muscles and joints a chance to rest and recover, avoid long periods of the same activity, give your eyes a break by closing them briefly, looking away and blinking often. Frequently used items, e.g. phone, should be placed on the middle area of the desk.
