She was furious! How dare...he! Krista stomped around her room in circles. She muttered to herself, "That good for nothing...that's it!" she screamed as she leaped at the phone. What she would say ran through her mind as she punched in her boyfriend's phone number. One ring...two rings...three rings, "Pick up, pick up!" she cried as the phone's rings suddenly came to a halt and a voice took the void the rings had left.
"Hello?" the voice on the other line barely managed through a giggle. She knew that voice; she'd know it from anywhere. Her "friend" Alyssa asked once more, "Hello is anyone there?" What was Alyssa doing at Nick's house Krista wondered?
Krista wanted to scream...to jump through the phone; instead, against her first reaction she coolly stated, "Nick please."
A gasp managed to escape Alyssa's lips...a commotion on Alyssa's end of the phone...finally Nick spoke, "Oh, hey umm Krista, I've been meaning to call you."
"Oh I bet," Krista hissed, "What is SHE doing over there?" Images of the two of them flashed through her head, making her angrier by the second.
"She came over to study, Krista," Nick said in his defense, "She and I are studying. Is there anything else I can help you with or can I resume my studying?" he demanded. Her eyes began to sting as tears slowly rolled down her contorted pain stricken face.
"Well ," she hissed, "You just better watch out, Nick."
"What is that supposed to mean, Krista?" Nick asked with a cord of panic in his voice.
Laughter, evil laughter filled Nick's ear, compliments of Krista.
"Krista? Krista?" Nick continued.
