             Children that are born as a result of teenage pregnancy that grow up without their father live very destructive lives. When proving this thesis information was obtained from internet and book sources. A survey and poll were also conducted. According to the results of the survey and poll, the two would have been drastically different if the information about the thesis was given before the survey and poll were given.
             Children who are born as a result of teenage pregnancy that grow up without their father lead very destructive lives. According to the Webster's Dictionary, the definition of father is as stated: a man who begets, nurtures or raises a child. Synonyms for the word father are dad, daddy, pop, papa and pappy. Teenage is defined as of being or relating to people in their teens, as stated in the Webster's Dictionary. Pregnancy is defined as the condition of being pregnant; pregnant is defined as containing unborn young within the body, both as stated in the Webster's Dictionary. There are nearly 23 million American children that do not live with their biological fathers and 40 percent of children with divorced parents have not seen their fathers in the past year. Also there are 17 million children living with their single mothers.
             Now, the effects of not having a father present in the home differ in some areas between men and women. Many women have a very low self-esteem and often have low school achievement. Most women will have promiscuous sex and interpersonal problems with romantic relationships. Some long term effects include: early marriage, teenage pregnancy of their own, having children while single, and a much higher risk of divorce or remarriage. They will usually have liberal attitudes and behaviors if the father leaves before the young lady's fifth birthday.
