This is how the media is able to lure you in to believing what they want you to believe. A major target of criticism by both the media and the community is the issue of police brutality, and because you only see certain incidents of these cases you are made to believe that when excessive force is used by police, that it is in an act of prejudice. For example in the case of Rodney King, as you might recall in 1992 a video was broadcast over the television world wide involving a group of Los Angeles police officers savagely beating a black man. Just by watching the portion of the video that was broadcast, it would seem as if Mr. King was being beaten for absolutely no reason at all. The fact of the matter is that prior to being stopped, Mr. King was evading police and resisting arrest.
