one of the many great Gothic buildings of Barcelona. It was constructed on the foundations of what used to be a Roman building in 1298 and was completed in 1448. The cathedral has been dedicated to Santa Eulália who was martyred by the Romans and her tomb rests in the crypt of the cathedral. The Cathedral's unique cloister is one of the most magnificent from the fourteenth century housing tall palm trees, fountains and white geese.
