The Impact Of The American Culture on our lives

             Recently, the impact of the American culture on the lives of all different nations of the world has, as we all know, increased to the utmost. The whole process is very complex – it includes a wide variety of trends - from extremely negative to beneficial.
             It is common knowledge that the USA, being the most powerful country, indeed does have a great deal of technological and cultural inventions to offer, among which are: air conditioning, computers and operating systems, lightning conductors (Sir Benjamin Franklin), spaceships, satellites, and even the eye-catching third rear stop lights for cars.
             There is, however, a list of more controversial innovations that have sailed all the way from across the Atlantic Ocean and flooded the Old Continent. This list, of course, begins with the triumphant junk food, stadium-sized shopping centres and their lorry-size shopping trolleys, but there is also a different thing to be found in it, that is the linguistic sphere.
             It may seem incomprehensible for some of you, as you might never have experienced such an urge yourselves, but it is necessary for every nation to have an original, distinct language of its own, one that was invented by ancestors at some very distant point back in the beginnings of civilisation and has been cultivated by generations ever since. It is one of the signs of a nation's identity and an indication of its sociologic specificity, just as the colour of the skin or hair shows the natural adaptation of a race to a certain climate. The process of unification of the cultures of the globe may in a sense be perceived as great misfortune as it deprives the world of the contrasts that have always proved one of the greatest features of nature: diversity.
             And such is the process which now occurs in many countries of the world, including Poland. Many of the original words have been totally replaced by English equivalents, so that the language seems to be a comical parody...
