             The literacy rate during year 2003 was 51.6% whereas literacy rate for both sexes is estimated at 54% in the current year, 2004. Literacy rates for male and female are estimated at 66.25% and 41.75% in the current year respectively and up from 56.48% and 32.59 % in 1998. (Govt. of Pak., 2003-2004).
             The educational backwardness of rural people is due to their traditional attitude towards female education. In rural areas number of schools are insufficient and existing school do not fulfill the needs of rural females (Asghar, 1992). The education of male and female has become the need of the day. Female in Pakistan is about 49% of total population (Govt. of Pak., 2003-2004). But unfortunately they do not get equal opportunities just like males. A girl's education is an investment to the future generation. Therefore, to ignore the education of women will leave half of the population backward and illiterate (Rafiq, 2000).
             But in order to generate the process of development, the importance of female education should be realized.
