Diiing Dong....Diiing Dong.....Knock Knock Knock. Ten more seconds and I'm sure they'll go away. When I say "they" I am referring to those ruthless door-to-door solicitors. Everyone knows who they are, and just about everyone hates them. They always come during the worst possible times of the day, such as dinner time, homework time, nap time, and even times when you're just sitting around doing absolutely nothing but would rather not answer the door and conjour up some bold face fib about why not to buy from them. I'm not going to lie to you, I myself have been the type of person I have come to hate. I've had to go around house to house to sell certain items to raise money for athletics, my fraternity, and even for my own wallet benefit, but we won't go into detail on that one. Everyone involved in the situation hates it. Most people dread going door to door, and most people hate answering their door, lying or buying from them, or even just avoiding them all together.
             There are ways around this silly system. Some ways are harder for some people depending on what kind of person they are. If you're one of those people who just cannot lie, have no money, or just doesn't want to buy anything, then the best advice to you is just to avoid the solicitor completely. If you hear your doorbell ring and you know it's a solicitor, just don't answer the door. Simple as that. Even though the solicitor knows 90% of the time that you are home and are avoiding them, you can feel better about yourself about not having to lie, either that or you might just feel cold hearted for leaving a charity raiser out to dry, but either way you win since you didn't have to pull out the check book.
