             Emotional abuse, is not as common, but is the most damaging type of abuse. The repetition of the insults, criticisms, taunts, and humiliation, ruin a child's "inner strength," and undermine a child's self-confidence and emotional state of mind and well being. In addition, not showing any gratitude, offering encouragement, or praise can also emotionally abuse a child if it goes to an extreme. Most people who emotionally abuse children, are nice one minute, rude, and nasty the next minute. Emotional abuse is not as publicized because not many people know that you can really abuse a child by what you say or do not say.
             Sexual abuse, the most common and most heard of form of child abuse, is the taking advantage of a child's body sexually. Most cases of sexual abuse involve someone other than a stranger. Incest, the worst form of sexual abuse, is when someone who is related by blood or marriage abuses a child, is undetected, and are ignored because of the fact most people think incest along with other types of abuse only occur in poor families.
