             Most teen mothers are able to receive child support but choose not to. As mentioned, most of the fathers of these children are adults in their twenties. They are capable of providing emotional and financial support. In a study done by Jeanne warren Lindsay, 38% of the fathers' visit less than three times and disappeared, giving no financial support. Most teen mothers are afraid to ask for child support because they want the father to pay for expenses voluntarily. Mothers fear they will push the father away if they demand child support. Chances are they are only giving up financial support their child desperately needs.
