Walking into the Trabant Center on the beautiful campus of the University of Delaware, I venture to the rear seating area. While seeking out a desirable seat, I overhear a couple that appears to be involved in a compassionate argument. Being the nosy individual that I am, I decide to listen in on their conversation.
             "John, who is this girl Lisa that I keep hearing about? Why do I keep hearing that you and her are becoming more than friends?" Laura says with a hint of anguish on her pale, smooth face.
             With a notion of aggravation on his strong-jawed face, John looks up from his Calculus book, pauses, and takes a deep breath.
             "Laura, why do you always start this? I'm sick of this interrogation. Would it be possible for you to simply grow up?" After releasing this newfound courage to stand up to Laura, he suddenly realizes that his haste has impaired his judgment, which is made apparent by his shocked and dumbfounded expression. Jon then quickly returns to his academic readings.
             Laura, seeming hurt by John's sharp response, also pauses, as if she is in deep thought. Her face turns away, to hide the emotion that is brewing from deep within her fragile soul. Composing herself, she finally looks straight into John's deep green eyes and says, "John, if you want to end the relationship, or take a break, just say it. This fighting isn't my idea of fun on campus." In mid-sentence, she reaches out and grasps John's strong hands. She then continues, "John, it's been two years. If you want to date other girls, fine. I want whatever will satisfy you and make you happy. I know you had a tough time back home. This is a new start for you. Have some fun for once in your life. I just hope I can be a part of it."
