Paul was a very unhappy teenager who did not feel that he belonged in his life.
For Paul school and home were dull and dreary an the theater where he worked was
where he shined. Paul's love for the theater and arts influenced him to want to live the

Paul feels trapped in a life he feels he does not belong in. Paul battled his worst fear
of being common and plain as everyone he knew. Paul's father wanted him to be like
one of the inspiring young men that lived on Cordelia Street.
Paul is so unhappy with his life he acts out in school and showed no interest
in his school work. Paul meets with the principal and his teachers about his behavior.
They voiced how his behavior is inappropriate and unacceptable. They view him as

Carsons office. His father banned Paul from Carnegie Hall and the theater. He went to
both places and told them to not allow Paul entrance. This infuriated Paul to no end.
When Paul took the company deposit to the bank, he took one thousand dollars from
the deposit and boarded a train to New York.
Paul spent more than a week in New York living the life he had dreamed of for so
long. He wore the finest clothes, ate the finest food and stayed in the best room. After
about 8 days or so, Paul started running out of money. Paul also found out that his father
was hunting him and was not for behind.
