Work
Work is a very important part in human and animal lives. People work
for money to support themselves to live. Animals had to search for food to sustain them.
I think people spend one-third of their lives working. Working is your everything, you
get your clothes, food and shelter from working. However, different cultures have
different definitions of work. Two essays, "My Mother Never Worked" by Donna
Smith-Yackel and a small excerpt from Vicki Hearne's "What's Wrong with Animal

In Yackel's essay, the author talks about the personal experience of her mother.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She did a lot of things in her
life. She had to take care of her eight children and had to work very hard on the farm.
When her mother was old and paralyzed from the waist down, she continued working
from her wheelchair, like barking bread, ironing clothes and writing letters. After she
died, the social security office said she never worked. By law, a woman who does not
work for wages outside the home is not entitled to social security benefits. So the author
thought, was very unfair for her mother. Yackel's essay is furtherer than Hearne's essay.
In Hearne's essay, the author says animals enjoy working. They do it not just for
food, but for the satisfactions that come from work. The author thinks, happiness is not
the same as leisure; it often comes from the opportunity to work. This also means if
people don't work, life will be different because work educates us.
In my own experience, I like to work outside. I think work could really bring us
