How to join the army

             The United States Army was founded in 1775 by the Second Continental Congress, and is the oldest service of the United States Military. The Army was formed to protect the liberties of the original thirteen colonies, and has evolved from a small militia force to the world's premier army with global reach and influence. The Army has played a major role in the country's development since its founding. The Army won the nation's freedom in the Revolution, preserved it during the Civil War, and protected it during the World Wars and the Cold War. As recently as Desert Storm and actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Army continues to protect the nation and its principles. I decided to join the Army because I wanted to be a part of the most dominating force in the world. With the proper information and guidance joining the Army can be a pleasurable moment. Take a minute to understand the process and benefits before you run to Canada with your tail between your legs.
             Before the actual process of joining the Army there are several things that you must do. First and foremost is locating your local recruiter. You can do this by looking in the yellow pages of the phone book, or dialing information. Once you have the number you can pick up the telephone and call your local recruiter. When the recruiter answers explain to him what your intentions and needs are. The recruiter will then begin to ask you a series of questions to ensure that you are fully qualified to receive the benefits that the Army has to offer. If you are more of a face-to-face person then you can simply walk into the nearest recruiter's office. No matter what process you use you will need to schedule an appointment to discuss your future and what the Army can offer you.
             Before you ever step foot into the Army office you should prepare yourself with a list of questions, and be prepared to answer questions that might be uncomfortable to you. You...
