People in the United States have different opinions on whether or not homosexuals should be allowed in the military or not. Many people feel that gays should not be authorized in the military. They feel that these people are not strong enough mentally and they show weakness to our country. I believe that gays and women should be able to be in the military without any criticism or racial remarks. I believe that someone who wants to be in the military whether he or she is a homosexual or not should be without any argument. It is nobodies business whether these people or homosexuals or not. The issue about women in the military has been a controversy for over 60 years. Women have been allowed to vote since the early 1900s. Giving this freedom to them opened doors for them. They feel that if men can go to war and fight for their country, then they can too. Going in the military for Female's who have tried to gain access to "All Men" facilities and have been pressured out of it. This small group of women have fought hard and pressured the Government to change regulations dealing with the inclusion of all people, whether female or male, and giving them all the same opportunities they deserve. Everyday gays and women are being harassed and abused. It is time for someone to step up and have enough courage to say what has needed to be said a long time ago. Homosexuals and women have been unwanted in the armed forces for over 60 years and now they are starting to fight back for their rights. During a survey taken in the early 1990s, 13-15 percent were said to be homosexuals. This is not a known figure because military personal are "afraid" to tell anyone or let anyone know of their sexual status.
