I. Noodling a revival of hand fishing in America, although you probably won't find the sport north of the mason Dixon line. It proves to be a very integral part in the southern United States. The sport itself contains many points of interest from the origination to the terminology or different names, the legalities and the fundamentals, but the main question most people have is, WHY?              1. The earliest known account of hand fishing was in 1775 by James Adair.
             a. He witnessed native Americans jumping in the river and coming up with giant fish.
             b. The sport has come a long way in 229 years.
             ii. And internet sites devoted to the sport.

             a. Mississippi, Alabama and north Carolina its called grabbling
             b. Arkansas and Missouri its called hogging.
             B. While the fact that it is only legal year round in 5 states might discourage some, most "sane" people wouldn't try it.

             a. there is a noodling season in Arkansas
             b. Missouri and Kansas have bills in legislature to make it legal again.
