Down Town Madison

             Downtown Madison at night is full of amazing sights and sounds that you can't see anywhere else in town. The large dome of the capital is lit up at night and is like a light house calling people out from there homes and into the wild nightlife that awaits them at the bottom of its white stone steps. If you were to take a walk through the congested streets surrounding the capital you would soon come the memorial union. This building is where hundreds of college students come to listen to music, talk with their friends, or just sit and relax by the lake. Around the back of the building is a huge open area dotted with dozens of multicolored chairs and tables. On most nights all of these chairs are filled with enthusiastic concert goers listening intently to their favorite local bands. Whether it be rap, heavy metal, punk, rock, reggae or any other type of music there are always tones of fans. Once you leave the union and start heading down the brick streets you begin to see people of all kinds. Just like there is all kinds of music down at the union, there are all sorts of different kinds of people downtown. There are those people considered "goths," these people usually have their hair died black and most likely are wearing dark black clothing, and sporting many piercings throughout there bodies. Along with the "goths" are the people asking for money. These people are often homeless and sit out on one of the many wooden benches downtown playing a instrument and singing. Despite the fact that their cloths are torn and tattered, and they look like they could use a good bath and a shave they usually seem happy. There are many other groups as well, but it would take to long to describe each one.
             Off the capital square and out on the residential part of downtown is were all the parties are. Walking down these streets it is common to see houses with people packed into them and people overflowing out ...
